These experimental EV batteries can eject themselves during a fire
TL;DRResearchers designed EV batteries that shoot out of cars during fires.
Why it matters: Could reduce fire risk and injury, but ejection viability in real crashes remains unproven.
EV battery fires are highly dangerous and difficult to extinguish, but is launching a battery pack out of the car a smart or realistic solution?
